About This Role
As a UI/UX Designer at Early Careers, you'll be at the forefront of designing our user experience across web and mobile platforms. You'll translate complex user needs into intuitive, beautiful interfaces that help graduates navigate their career journeys.
We're looking for a creative problem solver who can balance user empathy with business objectives. This role offers the opportunity to shape our design system and mentor junior designers while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design Execution
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
- Develop responsive interfaces for web and mobile
- Maintain and evolve our design system
- Design micro-interactions and animations
User Research
- Conduct user interviews and usability testing
- Analyze user behavior through analytics
- Develop user personas and journey maps
- Facilitate design thinking workshops
Collaboration
- Work closely with product managers and developers
- Present design concepts to stakeholders
- Mentor junior designers
- Participate in design critiques
Strategy & Vision
- Contribute to product vision and strategy
- Develop design principles and guidelines
- Stay current with design trends and tools
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusivity
Requirements
Design Skills
- Strong visual design and interaction design skills
- Expertise in creating wireframes and prototypes
- Experience with responsive and mobile design
- Understanding of design systems
Tools & Methods
- Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with user research methodologies
- Knowledge of usability testing techniques
- Familiarity with design handoff processes
Experience
- 4+ years of professional UI/UX design experience
- Portfolio showcasing UX process and visual design
- Experience designing complex web applications
- Bachelor's degree in Design or related field
Nice to Have
- Experience with HTML/CSS
- Motion design skills
- Experience in EdTech or HRTech
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG)
Day-to-Day Work
In this role, you'll collaborate with our product team to transform concepts into elegant, user-friendly designs. You'll participate in daily stand-ups, design reviews, and sprint planning. We value design thinking and encourage experimentation through rapid prototyping.
Your typical week might include conducting user interviews, creating high-fidelity mockups, refining our design system, presenting concepts to stakeholders, and collaborating with developers to ensure design integrity in implementation.
